No Fuel Crisis, Worry Is Increasing Because of Rumors

People are seeing long lines at fuel pumps and many posts on social media. So, everyone is asking: is there a fuel crisis in the country? Many people are worried, but the real situation is different. The talk about a fuel shortage is mostly based on rumors, not facts.

Right now, fuel supply in the country is normal. According to Chattogram Port, there is enough fuel in stock. Diesel can meet about 14 days of demand, octane 9 days, and petrol 11 days. There is also enough furnace oil for 29 days and jet fuel for 23 days, which are important for electricity and flights.

More fuel ships are also coming to the country soon, which will make the supply even stronger. Even then, wrong information about shortages is spreading and creating fear. Some groups may be spreading these rumors on purpose. There are also complaints that a few pump owners are selling less fuel, which is making people more confused.

Sometimes, rumors and panic buying can create extra pressure in the market. This makes the situation look worse than it really is.

The government has already stopped the rationing system. Since March 15, fuel supply has increased and is now about 25% more than normal demand. Fuel import is continuing, and there is no major problem in supply. Based on current stock and incoming fuel, there is no sign of a shortage right now.

In short, people should trust correct and verified information. The main problem now is not fuel supply, but the spread of rumors.
