BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman called upon party leaders and activists to stand by the common people across the country.
“People are looking towards the party with high expectations… so we have to be patient, follow law and order, and stand by the people. We should not do anything that causes problems or suffering for them,” he said.
He made the remarks while addressing leaders and activists from the balcony of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party central office in Nayapaltan this evening.
Mentioning that the country is facing many challenges, Tarique Rahman urged party leaders and activists to explain the situation to the public and encourage them to remain patient.
He also said he plans to visit the Nayapaltan office more often, but stressed that roads must not be blocked during his visits. “People’s movement cannot be obstructed,” he said, asking activists gathered in front of the office to clear the roads quickly.
The prime minister added that visiting the party office would help him carry out organizational activities and communicate directly with party members. “I will be able to come to the office if you cooperate; otherwise, it will not be possible,” he said.
Earlier, he arrived at the Nayapaltan office around 7:20pm, where thousands of BNP leaders and activists welcomed him.
This was his first visit to the Nayapaltan office after becoming prime minister. During the visit, the BNP chairman exchanged views with party leaders, cabinet members and lawmakers.
