US Could ‘Easily’ Take Iran’s Kharg Island: Trump

US President Donald Trump has said that the United States could take control of Kharg Island “very easily,” in comments that may raise tensions with Iran.

In an interview with the Financial Times on Sunday, Trump described the island—located off Iran’s west coast—as an easy target.

“I don’t think they have any defense. We could take it very easily,” he said when asked about Iran’s military presence there.

Kharg Island is a key oil export terminal for Iran, making it strategically important. Reports suggest the Pentagon is considering possible ground operations targeting the island, although US officials have indicated they would avoid a full-scale invasion.
