Multiple Fuel Tankers Arrive as Diesel Unloading Begins at Chattogram Port

Two fuel tankers have started unloading diesel at the Dolphin Jetty of Chattogram Port, while three more vessels carrying diesel and octane have entered Bangladesh waters.

The vessels currently unloading—MT Oaktree and MT Cape Bonnie—were carrying 35,000 and 33,000 metric tonnes of diesel respectively.

Meanwhile, three additional ships have entered the country’s maritime zone. These include MT Lian Song Hu with around 41,000 metric tonnes of diesel, MT Pacific Indigo with approximately 33,000 metric tonnes of diesel, and MT Nave Cielo carrying about 27,000 metric tonnes of octane.

The development was confirmed by Farzin Hasan Moumita, Assistant Manager (Public Relations) at Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.

According to BPC data, over the past 19 days, a total of 15,170 tonnes of octane has been received from three domestic private companies. Super Petro PLC supplied 11,615 metric tonnes of octane, 7,177 tonnes of petrol, and 12,884 tonnes of diesel. Petromax Refinery Limited delivered 3,264 tonnes of octane, 1,254 tonnes of petrol, and 1,896 tonnes of diesel. Aqua Refinery Limited contributed 291 tonnes of octane, 4,130 tonnes of petrol, and 518 metric tonnes of diesel.

Moumita added that unloading of fuel from the newly arrived vessels will begin once they reach the port.
