Navy Seizes 1,600 Litres of Illegally Stored Diesel in Hatiya, One Arrested

The Bangladesh Navy has seized a large quantity of illegally stockpiled diesel and arrested one person during a joint drive in Hatiya, Noakhali.

The operation was carried out in the Tamuraddi Bazar area under Hatiya upazila with support from police and the local administration, according to a statement from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the drive, law enforcement officials searched an outlet named “Belayet Motor Parts” and recovered eight drums containing approximately 1,600 litres of diesel.

One individual was arrested on charges of illegal fuel hoarding. He was later handed over to Hatiya Police Station along with the seized diesel for legal proceedings.

The Navy stated that such operations will continue to curb illegal fuel hoarding and maintain stability in the energy sector.
