PM Tarique Rahman to Open Amar Ekushey Book Fair, Award Ekushey Padak on 26 February

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the Amar Ekushey Book Fair and present the Ekushey Padak on 26 February.

The Ekushey Padak ceremony will be held in the morning, followed by the official opening of the book fair in the afternoon.

Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury shared the details on Saturday (21 February). He said the fair will be formally opened at the Bangla Academy premises, where the Prime Minister will attend as chief guest and declare it open.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister will award the Ekushey Padak to individuals recognised for outstanding contributions in various fields.

Organisers said all preparations for both events have been completed.

In a notable move this year, the government has fully waived stall fees for all participating publishing houses. The decision has been widely welcomed by the publishing community as a positive step for the industry.
