The government clarified that the schedule, date and destination of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s possible state visit have not yet been finalized, urging all not to spread rumours.
Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman made the statement, saying recent reports in some media outlets and on social media about the Prime Minister’s foreign visit are misleading and baseless.
Some reports claimed that the Prime Minister would first visit India on an official tour.
“This information is baseless. There is no truth to it. This false information is being spread intentionally,” Ruman said.
He urged everyone not to pay attention to such misleading reports and called on all concerned to refrain from spreading misinformation.
The additional press secretary added that once the government finalizes any decision regarding the visit, it will be officially announced in due course.
