Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said ensuring quality education for every student is one of the government’s highest priorities, reaffirming its commitment to bringing qualitative improvements across all levels of the country’s education system through coordinated initiatives and effective implementation.
He made the remarks while visiting the Ministry of Education at the Bangladesh Secretariat for the first time since assuming office, according to Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary Md Nazmul Haque Khan.
During the visit, the Prime Minister reviewed the ministry’s overall activities and exchanged views with senior officials, heads of departments and agencies, and experienced education officials working at the field level.
A review meeting was held where ministry officials presented detailed reports on ongoing activities, development projects, progress in implementing the National Education Policy and overall administrative performance.
After reviewing the presentations, Tarique Rahman provided necessary directives to the officials concerned.
The meeting discussed measures to improve the quality of education, ensure regular student attendance, strengthen classroom teaching, provide continuous and modern training for teachers, expand technology-based education and enhance administrative accountability.
The Prime Minister also interacted with education officials serving at the field level, who shared their experiences, challenges and recommendations for improving the country’s education system.
He stressed that practical experiences and recommendations from field-level officials should be given due importance in policy formulation and implementation.
Concluding the visit, the Prime Minister called on officials and employees of the Ministry of Education to perform their duties with dedication, professionalism and a strong commitment to public service, while issuing necessary directives for the overall development of the country’s education sector.
