Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman conducted an unannounced late-night drive across several parts of the capital to inspect the routine cleanliness activities carried out by city authorities.
The Prime Minister left the Bangladesh Secretariat at around 9:10 pm after completing his official engagements, according to his Deputy Press Secretary Md Sujauddoula (Sujon Mahmud).
During the inspection, Tarique Rahman drove the vehicle himself, accompanied by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Md Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton.
The route covered Farmgate, the National Parliament area, Cantonment, Mohakhali and Banani. After passing through the Chairman Bari area of Banani, the Prime Minister returned to his residence in Gulshan.
Throughout the drive, the Prime Minister observed the city’s cleanliness operations and issued various instructions to the DSCC administrator regarding ongoing maintenance and sanitation activities.
The Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary and Personal Assistant accompanied the inspection in separate vehicles that formed part of the convoy.
