Prime Minister Tarique Rahman called upon government officials and employees to extend full cooperation in implementing the commitments outlined in his party’s election manifesto.

He made the call while addressing his first view-exchange meeting with serving officers and staff at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), held at Shapla Hall in the Tejgaon area of the capital.

Referring to the mandate received in the recent election, the Prime Minister said the people had voted in favor of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s manifesto through a fair election. He emphasized the need to work in line with the pledges made, particularly in the areas of health, general and women’s education, employment generation and sports development.

Stressing public safety, Tarique Rahman said ensuring security for citizens so that they feel safe remains a priority. He expressed confidence that the goal can be achieved if all work together with sincerity and dedication.

Highlighting the importance of integrity, the Prime Minister hoped that officials and employees would fully cooperate in eliminating corruption from the country. He noted that the public has high expectations from the government and reminded the officials that they are an integral part of it.

“The government will perform well only when you extend your cooperation,” he said, adding that the country must be considered the first and last destination for all, and collective efforts are needed to improve the lives of its people.

During the meeting, he also instructed officials to maintain confidentiality on matters concerning national interest and to strictly follow government rules and regulations to help build a disciplined state.

Prime Minister’s advisers Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Md Ismail Zabiullah, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Humayun Kabir, Brigadier General (Retd) Shamsul Islam, Dr Zahed Ur Rahman and Mahdi Amin were present.

Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar delivered the welcome address, while PMO Director General Mohammad Abdul Wadud Chowdhury presented an overview of the structure and functions of the office.

Heads of different departments and offices under the PMO, along with officers and employees, attended the meeting.
