Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has provided Eid bonuses to sanitation workers of city corporations across the country.
He handed over Eid bonus cheques to the administrators and mayors of all city corporations at an event held at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan, according to PM’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.
During the programme, the Prime Minister instructed city corporation authorities to keep their cities clean and highlighted the importance of building neat and healthy urban areas.
He also urged the authorities to ensure regular cleaning of canals and drains to help prevent waterlogging in cities.
LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and State Minister Mir Shahe Alam were present at the event.
Administrators and mayors from 13 city corporations including Dhaka North, Dhaka South, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Barishal, Khulna and Sylhet attended the programme.
Before Eid-ul-Fitr this year the Prime Minister had also provided Tk 5,000 each as Eid gifts to sanitation workers of city corporations.
