Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has reshuffled the officers-in-charge (OCs) of six police stations following a recent incident involving Bangladesh national cricket team player Nayeem Hasan.
The transfer order was issued on Monday and signed by CMP Commissioner Hasan Md Shawkat Ali.
According to the order, officers from Karnaphuli, Doublemoring, Khulshi, Chandgaon and Chawkbazar police stations, as well as members of the Detective Branch (DB) and Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, have been reassigned to new positions.
Under the reshuffle, Karnaphuli Police Station OC Shahnur Alam has been transferred to Doublemoring Police Station.
Khulshi Police Station OC Md Solaiman and Doublemoring Police Station OC Md Jamal Uddin Khan have both been transferred to the CTTC unit.
Kazi Masud Ibn Anwar has been appointed as the new OC of Karnaphuli Police Station, while CTTC Inspector Mozammel Haque has been posted as the new OC of Khulshi Police Station.
In other changes, Chawkbazar Police Station OC Babul Azad has been transferred to the Detective Branch (South).
Chandgaon Police Station OC Md Nur Hossain Mamun has been posted to Chawkbazar Police Station, while DB South Inspector Jasim Uddin has been appointed as the new OC of Chandgaon Police Station.
The reshuffle comes amid controversy surrounding an alleged assault and harassment incident involving national cricketer Nayeem Hasan, which drew public attention and prompted administrative action.
Police officials said the transfers were made in the public interest.
