Prime Minister’s Education and Primary and Mass Education Adviser Mahdi Amin has said the government is moving to comprehensively reform the country’s education sector by combining merit, morality, human values and quality education.
He said the national curriculum is being redesigned for the 2028 academic year, while several new subjects focusing on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, artificial intelligence and sports will be introduced from 2027.
As part of the initial changes, new books and subjects will be introduced at the primary and secondary levels, including Sports and Culture for Class IV and Learning with Happiness and Technical Education from Class VI.
Mahdi Amin said the government is also preparing a special policy for students who failed SSC and equivalent examinations or are at risk of dropping out. They will be offered opportunities for technical and vocational training, short-term courses and, where necessary, financial support to become entrepreneurs.
Employment exchange centres will also be established at divisional and district levels to connect skilled job seekers directly with industries and employers.
The government is further planning to strengthen teachers’ digital capacity under the “One Teacher, One Tab” programme, while increasing research support and expanding cooperation between universities and industries.
Mahdi Amin said the overall goal is to move away from certificate-based education and build a generation equipped with skills, employability, ethics and human values.
