Japanese Ambassador Saida Shinichi paid a courtesy call on Lt Gen Mir Mushfiqur Rahman principal staff officer of the Armed Forces Division, on May 6 to discuss future security cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan.
During the meeting both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral collaboration in the security sector according to a Facebook post from the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh.
INOUE Shunichi director of the Security Cooperation Division under Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.
Officials discussed several issues of mutual interest and stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two friendly nations.
The meeting reflected growing engagement between Bangladesh and Japan on defence and security-related matters.
