Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to Muslims in Bangladesh and around the world on the occasion of holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH).
In a message, he described the arrival of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) as a glorious event in human history, saying the Prophet’s teachings opened a new path of truth and light and called humanity towards Tawhid, justice, equality, brotherhood, compassion and peace.
Tarique Rahman said the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) remain an eternal guide for humanity, reflecting values including truthfulness, trustworthiness, justice, forgiveness, tolerance, kindness and selflessness.
He said the Prophet upheld the dignity and rights of all people regardless of race, colour, tribe, language or social status, while placing particular emphasis on the rights of family members, neighbours, women, children, orphans, the poor and other disadvantaged people.
Referring to ongoing conflicts, violence, discrimination, intolerance and moral decline around the world, the Prime Minister said the Prophet’s teachings on peace, justice, compassion, forgiveness and humanity are especially relevant in the present circumstances.
He said following the Prophet’s life and philosophy could help build a peaceful and welfare-oriented society based on justice, responsibility and human values.
Tarique Rahman also urged the young generation to draw inspiration from the Prophet’s ideals and stay away from drugs, terrorism, extremism and crime.
He said these teachings should be reflected in personal, family and social life to build a peaceful, just and humane Bangladesh based on mutual respect, compassion, tolerance and justice.
The Prime Minister prayed to Almighty Allah to enable everyone to follow the life and Sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and establish peace, justice, equality, prosperity and humanity in Bangladesh and across the world.
