Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met family members of martyrs and injured participants of the July Uprising at the Jatiya Sangsad during a break in the session.
In a rare and emotional moment, the prime minister went to the visitors’ gallery amid his busy schedule, creating a warm and humane atmosphere inside the parliament.
On Sunday evening, Tarique Rahman, also chairman of the BNP, visited the ‘Meghna’ gallery and interacted with families of those killed and injured in the July Uprising, breaking the usual formal barriers.
He spoke with them individually, asked about their conditions, listened to their experiences and consoled them with empathy—placing his hand on their heads and shoulders as many were still dealing with grief and hardship.
According to Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman, around 60 people from across the country were present, including 26 family members of martyrs and several injured participants, many of whom are still receiving treatment.
The visitors shared their pain and struggles with the prime minister, some breaking down in tears during the interaction.
The prime minister listened attentively and assured them that the government would always stand beside the July Uprising fighters and their families.
