Bangladesh has strongly condemned the Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that killed two Bangladeshi nationals and injured several others.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack on October 10 caused casualties and left numerous people injured, many of them critically.

The Bangladesh mission in Riyadh is in contact with Saudi authorities to obtain details about the deceased and injured Bangladeshis and facilitate necessary assistance to those affected, the statement said.

Bangladesh expressed deep condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, including those of the Bangladeshi victims, and prayed for the swift and full recovery of the injured.

“Attacks endangering civilian lives and targeting civilian infrastructure are unacceptable and must cease immediately,” the statement said.

The government reiterated its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its people in the wake of the attack.

Bangladesh also called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and a peaceful resolution of the ongoing crisis through dialogue and diplomacy to ensure regional peace, security and stability.
