Fuel unloading activities at Chattogram Port remain uninterrupted despite global unrest caused by the ongoing war involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
A total of 25 fuel-carrying ships successfully unloaded at the port between March 1 and March 22, Port Secretary Syed Refaet Hamim confirmed yesterday.
Currently, unloading of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is underway from a vessel that arrived from Oman.
Officials said a ship carrying base oil from Thailand is waiting at the outer anchorage for unloading.
Meanwhile, two vessels — BWEK BORNHOLM and MORNING JANE — are en route to the port and are expected to arrive by March 25.
Another vessel, LPG SEVAN, is actively discharging gas, while AB OLIVIA, which transported base oil from Thailand, is currently stationed at Bravo Point in the outer anchorage awaiting unloading.
Authorities said the continued operations are helping ensure a stable fuel supply across the country.
