Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain has ordered the sealing of Doctors Care Hospital and Diagnostic Center in the College Gate area of Shyamoli following allegations that surgeries were being conducted by fake doctors.
The decision was taken during an unannounced inspection by the minister this afternoon, when multiple irregularities were found at the facility.
Authorities also arranged for the quick transfer of admitted patients to other hospitals to ensure their safety.
During the visit, the minister inspected different sections of the hospital and spoke with patients and their relatives.
Several victims also arrived at the hospital after learning about the minister’s visit and alleged that they had been deceived in the name of medical treatment.
The minister said legal action would be taken against those responsible and added that monitoring of private healthcare facilities would be further strengthened to prevent such incidents.
